I was numb. That must be the first time in my life I felt that way, like my head was just floating in some blank space. Nothing seemed real anymore, eyes wide open but I could not see anything. I was still clutching my phone in one hand but I could not feel it.

I don’t know how long I was lost for but I managed to get my senses back just as the car was coming to a stop. I looked at around and did not have any idea where we were, it was some uncompleted building which already had a completed fence all around it. How cliché and ironic.

I didn’t bother to ask Obinna how they got access to the compound, was definitely not my business. Most pressing matter was getting myself together, there was a part of me wanting to ask Obinna if he had a gun around so I could just shoot the two guys and be done with it. I scoffed considering I had never held a gun in my life not to mention actually shooting it.

But that part of me was controlling majority of my body now and it was taking all the willpower I had not to make a move.

“Carry them come see committee for upstairs.” Obinna told the driver and Scarface as he motioned to me to follow him. I followed like a robot stealing a glance backwards once to see Scarface dishing out a slap to one of the brothers as he was about bringing them out the boot. That was just about the least the bastards deserved.

I followed Obinna up a flight of stairs that had not yet been plastered and we got to the second floor of the building welcomed by the sound of some moaning and groaning. We turned around a half completed way just to see a girl been taken on by two guys. All three were standing, the girl bent over and with a dick in her mouth while another was punishing her from behind.

And of the three, she just seemed to be the one enjoying it the most. I don’t know why I felt so repulsed at the moment. Was it because I had just lost someone really close to me or the fact that the guy fucking her from behind was not spanking the magnificent ass right in front of him?

I could not tell but all I knew was that even my dick was not in the mood to enjoy the view.

“Oya oya, make una round up quick. We wan get meeting” Obinna called out to them.

“Chei, now now” The one with his dick in her mouth looked up at us and asked.

“You deaf?!” was the harsh reply he got from Obinna. It was at that moment the guy behind started to groan out loud and cum. Lucky guy, I thought to myself. Fucking and not getting to finish up is one of those sad moments in life and I could bet that the guy getting his dick all sucked on would be cursing Obinna right now.

The look on his face said it all but he was not the one that spoke up.

Obinna took a step forward then stopped. I was pretty sure he figured hitting a prostitute wasn’t worth it. Well I don’t know if she was really a prostitute but it was a touch and go thing so I figured she was one anyway plus the way she spoke sef. But she wasn’t going to escape punishment because as Obinna stop in his tracks, the dude that was still with a hard dick slapped her hard that she fell against the nearest wall.

As if that wasn’t enough, he stepped forward to deal her a few more blows apparently but was halted by Obinna.

“E don do, make she pack her clothes dey go. We no get time for this” He said.

Reality must have done on the girl that these guys were not one to play with as she hurried looked around for her panties and clothes that were lying all around and took off. She didn’t go down through the stairs that we had come up on but another one.

Apparently she was scared that Obinna was going to hit her if she dare pass by his side. The two naked guys got to get their clothes on just as the rest of our entourage arrived. Wole and Jide in front, Scarface and the driver right behind them.

“Let them kneel down” Obinna said to no one in particular but Scarface took it upon himself to smack the brothers until they were both on their knees right in the center of the room.

“Who be this ones?” One of the guys that had been fucking asked.

“Ha awon Jagaban” The driver replied him, and that was all.

“Brain, wetin you wan do?” Obinna turned to ask me, I did not know when I uttered..

“You get gun?” And everyone was silent. I looked at Obinna and he stared back at me. I don’t know what or if he saw something in my eyes but he didn’t ask me anything. He only turned to Scarface and nodded. Scarface reached behind his back and pulled out a gun. I wasn’t even bothered anymore, nothing could get to me anymore.

I pulled out my phone and scrolled to the text that had slowed down my world. Passed the phone to Obinna.

“Ha!” was all he said as he read it. He grabbed the gun from Scarface and hit Jide on the head with such brutal force that blood was all over the floor in a matter of seconds. I looked at Wole and saw him go all white.

“Eva is dead” I said to him, just to make him fully understand what the hell was about to happen to him. But then again even I didn’t know what was going to happen to them.

“The babe don die?” The driver asked for confirmation before whistling out loud. I just nodded at him.

“Ehn, e don settle na. Make we go bury these ones to na, abi?” Scarface said while looking around at everyone in the room for support. They were all nodding in support save for Obinna who looked at me. It was my operation apparently so I have got to make the decisions.

“We are not killing them. That is the easiest punishment. Death is mercy” I quoted one of my favorite sayings.

“I no understand” Scarface said with a puzzled look.

I sighed

“If we kill them, we no punish them be that. We just send them one way ticket. But if we give them slow poison like comot one eye or one leg or hand. For the rest of their life, dem go dey remember the fuck up wey dem do.” I explain.

“OHHH! You this guy wicked o” Scarface laughed.

“I gree but what punishment now” Obinna asked me.

I looked down at Jide who was trying to get up from the floor covered in blood and then at Wole who was staring up at me in fear. I didn’t know what we were going to do yet but one thing was for certain.

Death is mercy
