Chris went back to the spot where he had been sitting and waited for them to finish up and it took quite a while before Lola came back out into the lit area giggling and adjusting her skirt with the guy in tow. Walking over to his car, they hugged and said their goodbyes and she waved to him as he drove away. She started towards the entrance of the hall, when Chris stood up and she was startled as she saw him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHey baby\u201d, she said as soon as she saw him walking toward her, recovering from her disconcertion albeit a little slowly.<\/p>\n
\u201cHey\u201d Chris said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow long have you been out here?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just came down now. Your roomie told me you just stepped out when I went up there to find you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh sorry\u201d, I went to pick up some supplies, she said holding up the bag of groceries.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh I see. I see the grocery store also sells kisses and body groping too.\u201d<\/p>\n
With her face flushed, she asked \u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d<\/p>\n
Chris laughed and said \u201cDon\u2019t worry about what I mean. We\u2019re done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walking over to his car, he got in and started driving in the general direction of his apartment. Getting to his apartment, he pulled out his phone and placed a call.<\/p>\n
\u201cHello\u201d, Chris said when the person at the other end picked up.<\/p>\n
\u201cHello\u201d, the person at the other end replied.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s up?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHave you settled in?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sighing, the person on the other end answered \u201ca little over a year\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWeren\u2019t you at the party? Have you quickly forgotten all the insults she hurled at me? She would\u2019ve thought I was trying to get even.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh yeah. But whatever. Let her go and meet her boyfriend. I\u2019d talk to you later.\u201d<\/p>\n

Placing the phone on his dresser, he went to the kitchen to make himself a bowl of cereal to eat. He was reaching for the milk when he heard his phone ring. Walking to his room and then to the dresser, he looked at the caller ID. It was Lola.<\/p>\n
Picking up the phone, he said, \u201chello\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry Chris.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSee, I\u2019m not mad or anything. That\u2019s what you want to do, so do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI love you Chris. I will end things with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEnd things with him, don\u2019t end things with him, I don\u2019t care. Good night Lola.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so sorr\u2014\u201d Lola was saying as he ended the call.<\/p>\n
She called again but he ignored it. She kept calling and he kept ignoring and so the dance began and continued for the following couple of days.<\/p>\n
As the days passed and the day for the wedding Yemisi had invited him for was on the morrow, Yemisi asked if she could come stay at his so that they could go for the wedding together instead of him picking her up and wasting time especially as she knew that Chris and his girlfriend had broken up. Chris agreed and then she came over with more bags than required for even a month\u2019s stay talk more of an overnight one. That was when she explained that she would be heading back on Monday and it made more sense to bring her things so she could leave for the airport from his apartment and at the same time, spend all of her remaining time around with him.<\/p>\n
They had sex that night and in the morning they set off for the wedding. The wedding was a high school reunion of sorts and almost everybody at the wedding party said they were adorable and could not believe that they were still together and they got tired of telling people that they were not a couple and just resulted to smiling and nodding instead.<\/p>\n
Leaving the wedding party and getting into his car, they both had a good time laughing and they both wished she wouldn\u2019t be gone in two days. They spent the next day and half making love, talking and discussing whether they\u2019d both survive a long distance relationship until he came over for his masters or waiting altogether until he came over. They decided on waiting until he came over and when the time came, he drove her to the airport and bade her farewell.<\/p>\n
In the days leading up to the wedding, Lola kept calling and begging for him to take her back and when he ran into her at school, it was more of the same. But he remained resolute and unyielding. He was no longer interested.
